"1984-P" Washington Quarter Damage?

    Hello, found this Washington quarter in pocket change today.

    The non-reeded edge is smooth and copper exposed around the entire outside edge.
    Date cut off, but could slightly make out "1984-P". Other words cut off slightly as well.

    I suspect just some type of damage done to it post-mint, but wanted to double check and get other opinions. 20210330_162934.jpg

    Not in a vending machine though:) it will most likely be rejected since it's smaller and probably lighter compared to the standard quarter.
