Name that Emperor

    Could you please assist me to guess the name of this Emperor. It looks like Septimius S., but the legend doesn't show that. Thank you. Rprovinc.JPG

    Yes. Thank you. I also guessed so, after searching. The reverse is really fascinating with a big bull.

    The obverse legend looks like:
    IMP CAES MA CRIN----- to me.

    But I can't find a reverse match. There is a Julia Domna with a reverse like yours:

    Both above examples are from wildwinds.

    I feel really grateful to all of you. It seems a hefty coin. The bull is standing before a vexillum inscribed LEG III GAL . It's Legion III. Also notice the Murex shell in right field of reverse.

    Very neat murex shell. It took several thousand murex to dye a single small piece of cloth, so the imperial purple probably took many months and many hundreds of thousand poor snails to dye.

    I don’t think I’ve seen a murex represented on a coin before. Very neat
