Aurelian upgrade

    I got this little guy for like $8, and I consider it an upgrade, or at least a lateral to my existing Aurelian Restitutor Orbis.

    For some reason this was heavily smoothed, but I guess I'm cool with it as it left a really neat "halo" effect of silvering around all of the devices.

    For the life of me, though, I can't figure out that cut-off mintmark.

    I like the second one. Can't tell if it was "heavily smoothed", as you say, or just worn? Looks acceptable to me in any event.

    You know, could be wear actually, now that I see it. Which actually makes it more interesting - if these circulated to that extent, I wonder if the fully silvered coins were accepted more readily than these worn ones with minimal silver
