From what I read it was not unusual for Civil War vets in their 80s and 90s to propose marriage to the young women or nurses taking care of them and even father a kid or two before shuffling off on their mortal coil.
No disrespect taken. I know it can be difficult to understand but as you can see, it happens. I'm just one of them. It all depends on life, our lives.
