We did our birthyear coins and our parents birthyear coins, now post your grandparents birthyear coins.

My grandfather was born in 1900 and my grandmother was born in 1905:

Don't know exactly when they were born but I'm sure it was during the early 1900's.So two of my favorite roll finds from the early 1900's. 20210321_175918.jpg 20210321_175928.jpg

Not sure what year my other grandparents were born, but here's most of my hoard of raw 1927-dated coins (have a few more graded pieces.) My maternal grandmother, who started me on coin collecting, was born that year.

Here are some of my graded examples:

Palestine Historical Holyland 1 Mil Token NGC MS61

    1927 S Peace Dollar PCGS MS62

And finally, a poster I made for her to hang on the wall in her care facility (since she can't have coins) - didn't have a nice enough Walker to include, nor did I have a decent enough Lincoln Cent, so I included some world coins.

My paternal grandfather was born Christmas Eve, 1900. That made it easy to remember. I don't know what year my paternal grandmother was born. Both maternal grandparents were born in 1906, I probably have an IHC from 1906 but no pictures.

My grandparents are so old I have no idea when they were born. Except for my mothers father. He was born before the civil war. He was just a child when it broke out but I have no idea of the year.

It would be good to get more details on this one! What you're saying is that your grandfather was born more than 160 years ago. I'm having trouble reconciling that.

Both my mother and I were born late in the lives of ours parents. All members of my mothers family(both sides for her) had long lives. At least 6 of my aunts and uncles lived to be over 100. My grandparents lived to be 90 and 94. My mother died a few years ago and was only a few weeks away from 98.

I hope I didn't sound disrespectful. It just amazes me that someone had a grandparent who was born before the Civil War. I heard stories from my grandmother, but they came via her grandmother, whose husband was a veteran. She was 15 and he was 34 when they married. Getting those stories directly from someone who was alive then is amazing. My feeble brain was having problems doing the math on somebody whose grandparent was born over 160 years ago...
