I blame it all on Lord M... bought one from him quickly became 5.. probably a few more next month. Decided to give these a thread of their own as now in hand they much nicer pieces then i expected.. I got the 4 for $50 (after S/H) So at $12.50 each I think I stole these. last pic shows no 2 the same thickness 1765.jpg 1765r.jpg 1782.jpg 1782r.jpg 1784.jpg 1784r.jpg 1785.jpg 1785r.jpg 1787.jpg 1787r.jpg

The one I bought from Lord M has made me want more. I'm practicing restraint at the moment.

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

I would love to own a couple of them, but know very little about them, in terms of authenticity.

There are fakes around, the edge is a big thing for these coins.

yeah not overly expensive and none I've seen actualy what you would call a "clean" coin.. lots of poor strikes, mishaped and cracked planchetes, cuds and what looks like lamination issues. Even the few certified mint state ones I have seen so far show some of these faults.

Does anyone know what they call this kind of edge? Thanks.

Lord M mentioned the exact term when i called in "Inverse Knurling"

I call it reticulated. I'm sure some would just say "security edge" or something.

Reticulated / Inverse Knurling. Thanks. I think it's easier to remember "reticulated." Types of edges I now know: Plain, Reeded, Angular Reeded, Ruptured, Lettered, and Reticulated.

I like these too. I've been slowly building a date set, not going to get into the mint mark varieties, I've currently got 19 or 20 of them. They made them for 38 years.
