I am working on a couple plaques on the wall, and a few displays, that discuss the floor.

  5. that looks so cool, i wish I could do this in my bedroom but i am pretty sure mine wouldnt look anywhere as good as yours. Id get mad at myself if the design came out wrong and or id get yelled at for ripping out the carpets (even though it would look better than the carpets)

Definitely need to use a sealer first. Very similar to the porous floor or wall tile before grouting. Part of the issue will be to keep the sealer from collecting in the areas you want to grout and keeping grout out of the recessed devices of the coins.

Love it! I also love History! Part of the reason I love coin collecting, I guess? Very good idea, outstanding design, great workmanship, and, from the comments, I think one of the most popular posts that I've seen! I hope you put one Memorial cent with the reverse side up, as you did with the one wheat back, just to show all aspects of the Lincoln Cent. Very good, I'm impressed!

My wife wants to relpace the back splash around the kitchen counter. I'm trying really hard to sell your idea to her.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Ooh, now, I would love that for a coffee table.

Tell her she has color options. If you want a different look, you could go for dateless buffalo nickels. Might cost more, but that sleek metal look would be nice and modern. And a backsplash isn't a huge area.

Just a thought. You could complete the bottom with the year 2009 made of the reverse side of the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Cents. Each digit could be made with one of the four different designs.

In Atlanta, GA a coin shop, that I went to had a large 4x8 plywood with an Indian head on it out of Indian Head cents. The owner's name was Roy Pain. This was in the 1963/1965 era.

A true "Drunks" floor. They have lots to look at while laying on the floor. Super nice Joe.
