Hey all just trying to get a guesstimated ballpark value what this Mexico Dansco book may be worth. Some of the larger ones are counterstamped. More photos coming...
You're going to have to individually present the coins one or two at a time - in full sized photos, not thumbnails - for anyone to be able to give you any substantive information as to their value. As to the album itself, I don't know, but I do know some of the obsolete Dansco World Coin albums do occasionally fetch premiums on the market, if they're harder to find. (For that, you could try a search of eBay sold listings, I suppose.) It looks like a neat album, with some really neat coins in it- from what I can see.
PS- you also might get a better response in the World Coins Forum. I can move this whole thread there for you if you like (do not repost it). If you would like it moved, just click the "report" link under the original post, and request the move.
Agreed, as a whole it looks good, but if you want opinions on value a number of posts will need to be made with 1 or 2 coins per post, clear, in focus and full sized
All right, buckle your seatbelts, folks. This thread is moving to World Coins in ... 3... 2... 1. You might feel a slight bump as we land.
Jeeez...now Ive lost track of what coins I took pictures of. Ugh. Maybe lets base it off what you all see here. That will give me a good idea. If these photos are not sufficient just disregard.
Nobody's going to be able to help you with thumbnail sized images, posted in random clumps, where we can't tell what obverse goes with what reverse. Why don't you remove the coins from the album and post them one at a time? One per post. Obverse and reverse of one coin. Then next post- obverse and reverse of the next coin. You think you lost track of what you posted, imagine how it is for us! It's more work, but is more likely to bring better replies.
I should add that if you're planning on selling this collection, you're likely to do much better selling the coins that way, too- individually. Then sell the empty album separately. Somebody might be looking for one. Yes, this will be a lot more work, but would pay more. Carrying the whole thing to a dealer would be the quick and easy way to go, but unless your dealer specializes in Mexican coins (and maybe not even then), you're likely to get a rather low wholesale offer. I see some 8-reales pieces in there, and some of the counterstamps might be valuable ones. These coins deserve individual examination.
I cannot speak as to the value of these individual coins @Lyricfive. However, assuming that the album pages and cover are blank, I doubt that the album has any monetary premium attached to it, unfortunately.
Yeah it's ok. You can just delete this thread. My lighting is horrible here and posting 10 per post gets really confusing. The feedback I received makes enough sense. I may sell some of these individually as mentioned.
There are some decent coins there. To sell individually you'll still have to individually photo the coins. [edited]
[edited- buy/sell/trade talk can't happen on the discussion forums.] You may post them on the For Sale forum- or link to your eBay store from there- as long as your post follows the rules on that forum. Or take it to private messages. But not here. Sorry. I know you were just responding to another member's message. ~Mod
