Wrong, and your reasoning is taking out of context! I'm sure not everyone told you to buy graded coins, and you should have done your own research before purchasing a coin. Tell others to talk to a dealer about what to look for in coins either graded or raw. Do not immediately defer them to graded coins. Tell them to read about the coin they're planning or wondering to get. Then they can make an informed decision instead of just buying slabbed coin.
To play the devils advocate, my lil bro is a preschooler, and he can say the darndest things But seriously BnB, this post says it all. stainless
How are my arguments flawed? Please back up your thesis. I don't think you're a fighter, I think you're delusional and need someone to backup your thoughts that in the back of your mind you know are untrue. We're giving you good advice and you're not taking it. I enjoy this discussion, very enlightening to the human condition, and I get to practice my rhetoric. How's that for a little zing BNB?
Wrong, Wow. Gotcha! Does it make you feel proud to try to take my post for the literal value and make me look bad?
I'm not, you're being a pain in the butt right now to me and I want nothing to do with it. I'm coming off a cold and I don't wanna argue with small minded thoughts. I'm sorry, I just hate bickering but if I feel that someone is violating my personal boundaries, I stand up big time.
Nope, that's not what I meant at all. Erm..... Buy it for the slab and for the coin. So, that means, you buy a nice coin that fits the slab.
You said you would "defer them to graded coins". I don't know how this can be understood in an unconventional sense. It is a very literal statement that you made and it is wrong to tell a beginner this. It is clear to see you have nothing constructive to counterpoint our arguments with except that you're "coming off a cold". You also state: "can't we all just get along" and we are trying to do this in a manner which benefits the hobby, beginners, and yourself. YOU are the one who does not want to get along, sir.
LOL - not confused at all. He comes in, doesn't listen to the experts, buys and sells - not sure if he made any money. As long as he had fun I am all for it. And if he sticks around that is fine. All you can do is make recommendations to someone and hope they listen. If they choose not to, so be it. And yes - it is buy the coin not the slab. At the same time it has been said - to learn first, but if you are going to buy to stick to the major tpg's. I don't have a problem with that - if it helps people get started and enjoying the hobby then that is great. Still you need to learn and understand the hobby. A lot of people just are not willing to do it, they just want to have fun - and the thought of learning is not fun. Just the way things are. So kick back, relax, toss back a dew and enjoy the roller-coaster ride.
And this thread is one enjoyable roller coaster ride. I like watching my 15 year old logic beat out the logic of a 24 year old university student.
AS A MODERATOR - Come on guys - on both sides, there have been comments and remarks made that are getting close to crossing the line. AS A MEMBER - Good luck - I wish you the best in whatever you do. Those that know me, know that I have taken time off from coins for about a year, and that is due to work, and trying to find another job. I still buy coins every now and then, and try to give back to the hobby. The best thing I have learned in this hobby, is how little I know. Speedy
Ha, how much more immature can we get. Tit for tat eh? Thanks for revealing yourself to being the immature person you are. Wow.
No offense - but it is not a winable argument from either side(you or bnb). Do make the moderators separate you two. Now go get a dew you two and go look at yorkiedad's buffalo's and enjoy the hobby - nothing really to argue about. Relaxxxx, look at some coins and have some fun. I am going to get my Dew now - the dinner of champions.
