I am happy to hear that. I believe Ike's are long overdue to awake from their slumber.

That is an asking price. What did it sell for, if it has already?

The '81s were NIFC. The '99s were for circulation and the Proof was minted in Philadelphia.

    Weird.
I have often thought the Bens don't get enough respect. I don't own anything high end in it but I like them. I've even thought the Kennedy's get over looked. Just me I guess. Ikes do nothing for me really.

Another relatively low-priced recent mintage coin...with an American general/President who people know....and which they can buy in size the last year or so while staying/working at home.

The 1999s were issued to be used in vending machines, I believe

They were issued because Congress passed a bill authorizing the creation of a new dollar coin. The new design (Sac Dollar) wasn't ready, so the Suzy B. was issued until it was ready.

It’s a big coin that wasn’t very well made especially the P mint and early dates. Finding even 65s is a chore and for the business strikes for most dates 66 is the highest affordable grade and for several dates is the highest grade. There are no 68s for PCGS business strikes and only 186 67s with like 130 being d mint. The silver medal ones only have 36 69s.

Im not sure why it would be a surprise to someone that basically top pop coins aren’t dirt cheap, realistically some of those should cost more. It’s just so hard to find nice Ike’s that it turns many people off

You are of course right about this. Although higher prices are listed on most all coins now, (inflation related maybe?) the bottom line is the price of the sale is the true determining factor. I've seen outrageous sums listed for common coinage and on the other side of the coin (no pun intended) decent prices for key dates. I wonder if there are statistics or graphs showing whether coinage sales figures have historically risen due to increased interest in numismatics, bullion investing notwithstanding.

It would be more likely that a "feeding frenzy" or a Registry Set need affects the prices more than anything.

People need to stop trying to blame registry sets for everything. Has nothing to do with that. 1971 P MS 63 PCGS Ike’s consistently sell for $25 or less on eBay and in many cases under 20.
