got mine today, pretty cool set and it looks like some of the proof cents already seem to have some color/toning to them.

also, my cent w/ the log cabin reverse has a small planchet flaw on the obverse, but i guess I can't really return it since they are sold out. oh well, still a cool set.

I noticed the color and tone too and I like it. I started a LN6 thread with some pics of my cents with little marks on the matte fields and spots seen under magnification on the mirror-like fields of the obverse. Are these like what you are seeing on yours?

Nah, that's not really what I'm talking about. My Log Cabin cent has a large depression in the fields on the obverse at about almost the size of one of the letters in LIBERTY. Will try to take a picture of it.

Just a question... If I do not sell the set now, how much would it be worth, let us say, 1 or 2 years from now? :kewl: There were only 50,000 sets minted! Would it be the same as the 2008 $50 Proof Buffalo coin?

    Just an idea!:hail:

Oh dear Leo, if only. My feeling is that prices for these issues will drop like a rock in the weeks to come.....

I got the first of my three sets today. Three of the four cents have toning or tarnishing. I'll post pics when I get a chance. They actually look kind of nice. Guess I have to keep them since I need them for my three grandkids. I'll draw straws as to who will get this set. Hmmm.. I wonder. Can I change out the cents with some from my proof sets??

My set finally came in today on Halloween. :smile I placed my order at a quarter to 5 p.m. the day they went on sale. So it looks like the later you buy, the longer it takes to get your set.

I'm really happy with this. Like I said, I already had the coins but this is a nice presentation. The quality is about all I could expect. The treatment the cents got left some tiny dark spots but it's not very noticeable. The cents are perfect. No white spots.

The silver dollar is perfect except for a minor ding in the field above the 'O' in God right next to the rim. I don't know how that could have possibly happened but it's there. Not noticeable unless you look for it. I didn't see any other imperfections on it but it would get a PF69 at best because of that tiny dent. (Already had a PF70 anyway.)

I'm glad I bought this one. The copy of the original written Gettysburg address was so cool. I like how the COA slips in the cover too.

I plan on keeping everything with it and leaving the box in the white slip that it came in. Have to go stash it away now.
