    You a buffalo collector? got the 07, 06, fractional? plan on buying this one? if so how many and do you plan on buying them Thursday at 12 or waiting it out. What is your reasoning for this choice?

    Boxer, I've only got one. A 2007 proof (one oz.,not matte) that I picked up at the mint for a mere $830 plus shipping. If memory serves, this was around the time that gold was starting to do a bit o' a climb on the charts, but in those days I'd check the mint web site and the price of that buffalo stayed the same. If I remember correctly, all of the other gold issues were climbing in price (mint web site) but for some reason this particular buffalo remained at the $830 price. I always wanted one, went out on a limb, and purchased it. It's my one and only and a beauty she is. Shortly after I made my purchase the offering for the 2007 was removed from the site. Glad I purchased when I did....:smile

    I am going to wait on this one. As much as I want it now, gold may come down in the next few weeks and I would like to see this coin come down in price. The only real concern is when the mint will stop minting these...has anyone heard? The way I figure, we have at least until the end of the year to purchase adn I don't see gold climbing too much higher.....although I have been wrong before, I quickly realized that it was a mistake and I was correct. ;)

    Traditionally, gold seems to fall in price in December. Just an uneducated observation.....

    Hey Joe, we got our butts kicked on Sunday.....

    Ken,
    I don't want to talk about it....:hatch::vanish:

    But I do want to talk about your uneducated observation about the price of gold dropping. Although, I am not overly educated on the trends of bullion values myself, it has been my very short experience in the gold market that gold does not tend to last long at values above $1000. I do believe this has been the longest that it has stayed above the $1000 mark and we will start to see a drop soon. Keep your figers crossed.

    leoq, I commend you sir for your English and just trying to communicate in a language that is not your native tongue. Heck I had 4 years of French in grade school and 3 years of Spanish in High School.....and still could not communicate in either lanaguge well enough to hail a taxi! But of course I'm a American you know ....we believe if we speak our language slow enough and repeat our selves over and over again..... even a man from Mars would understand us! kudos to you leoq.....oh that means way to go DUDE! :hail: Paddy[/QUOTE]

    Thanks Paddy and by the way my DOB is April 14 !

    I agree with your thoughts on this, however I think at some point with the devaluation of our dollar gold will 100% have to stick over 1,000$. The question is when, I dont think this is it quite yet, but I dont think its far off either... as you said, gold has never sat over a G this long, even with yesterdays biggggg correction we are still well over a grand.
    Anywho, just my 2c but lets hope these redic prices drive everyone away from my beautiful buffalos and they only sell about... mmmmm 10-15,000 of them :hail: lol I can dream right?

    So a 2008 pcgs grade MS-70 does have a book of $1500.00? is it a bullion issue or MS issue thats my question? I'm not getting into the matte /proof fight.....:rolling: LOL and one other question on the buffalos I have the 4 coin MS set mintages what 1600+/- why are the proofs more money and larger mintage? I don't know wht made me keep the ms set over the proof but maybe I was thinking I had purchased proofs in the 1 oz coins from the first issue year to date.

    Uncirc's tend to have lesser mintages than proofs....

    I dont know of the PCGS book price, but its a MS issue. It also has a matte finish ;) The proofs have a higher mintage because they are better looking and people who "want the best" aka the rolex, porsche, lacoste, crowd just spring for the proof right off the bat with out thinking and dont even look at the MS or bullion coins, they just want the most shiny thing to stick in the safe.
