    Searched two boxes:

    B1: one 68 and one 04

B2: 7 total 40%ers including a rare 1970 in at least AU. It is pristine!
Also, 2003s proof, 1978s proof, a strike thru error, a 1983 no FG error, and an 02, 03, and 04. My daughter and I had fun!

I'll post the error coins in that thread along with a 74d DDO that I THINK I found....I'll let the experts over their help me.

    Decent day but just missed

I had picked up 3 boxes throughout the week. We waited until tonight so the kids could search them. In the first two boxes combined we only found a walker but nothing else. Then in the thrid box, I found a PRISTINE 1964 and a 1964 PRISTINE on one side and dirty on the other. What that tells me is one was on the end and one in the middle of a very nice roll someone dumped into a coin machine. Unfortunately, I only got the 2 and somebody else got the other 18 in a box. sigh

Anyway, the total for the 3rd box:

    1940
    1951S
    1951S
    1963D
    4 x 1964
    1966
    1967
    1969
    3 x 2005
    2009

The 8 90%'ers is the most I found in one box.

Today's search founded me a 1944P silver nickel, 3 wheat cents, 1964D nickel with very clear WDM-photo posted FAVORITE COINS by BLAKE1943-and a very odd find which is a 1987 Australia coin with a 5 on the reverse found in a roll of pennies, looks like it might be silver.

One of my Best Boxes yet!!

I got a box of pennies today. It has to be the best box I ever got because I have only been roll searched for a little while. The second roll I opened, I was so shocked!! I found a 1875 USA Indian Cent!!! It is now the oldest coin in my collection!!! Here is the full list of all the coins I got out of one box of pennies:

    ~Canada~
    -1950 George VI
    -1951 George VI (I got 2)
    -1967 cenntenial (I got 10)

    ~USA~
    -1875 Indian Cent
    -1939 Wheat Cent
    -1940 Wheat Cent
    -1944 Wheat Cent
    -1945 Wheat Cent
    -1946 Wheat Cent
    -1956 Wheat Cent

It's funny how I'm from Canada and still find more USA pennies to keep!!

Done with selling rolls on EBay!

Well Audrey (my 7 yr old) and I searched a box of pennies today. We found one Kayman Island Penny, one Canadian, and a house record 26 wheats!
    19, 30, 34, 35, 39, 40, 41d, 41s, 42, 2x44, 2x44d, 2x45, 46, 50, 50s, 2x51d, 3x52d, 54, 54d, 57d

We have found quite a few Unc rools and a mint roll. I have had all sorts of trouble and profited very little by selling these on EBay as some have suggested. I had a whole box of UNC 98d that I sold and shipped in the String & Son box, which I put inside the flat rate box to make the shipping reasonable. The guy on the other end is now claiming that the rolls were "loose in the box" when he got them with several rolls split open and even claims a couple of coins were missing.
I am certainly sick of going to all the trouble of packaging and shipping rolls when the GROSS profit is about $4 on rolls and $50 on the box. After the EBay fees, I'm netting about $1.50 per roll and MAYBE $20-$25 if I'm lucky on the box (minus whatever the guys holds me up for over the shipment apparently not meeting his expectations). I've got to recommend against using EBay for selling this stuff. I've gotten a few decent deals buying stuff on EBay, but at this point, I'd rather just spend the UNC coins, or put them back in the coin machine than go about all this EBay hassle. SHEESH!

Guns Up! Sorry Erin, but my Red Raiders are going to put a whuppin' on the Ags tomorrow! :pencil:

from what years are halves 90% and from what years are they 40% silver halves?? (USA Halves)

  15. Treashunt

    Treashunt The Other Frank

90% are up to and including 1964.

    $1/2 only:
    40% 1965 to 1970.

But, if you ask, you really should buy a Red Book (Guide Book of US Coins by R S Yeoman).

    Another tease

I had to travel an hour for my kids soccer game. We got there a few minutes early and there was a bank on the corner. We ran in and asked for halves. Guys leaves to the vault and comes back with 2 rolls. I say I will take them and he says he has another $460 if I want them. Had $80 in my wallet so I bought 8 rolls. Get in the car and tell my son to open a few rolls before his game. 1st roll nothing 2nd roll 1 1964, 1 1965, 1966 and 2 wonderful shiney Franklins! My son is about to jump out of his seat. What do I do? Run back and buy the other $380. Sigh...none of the other rolls had the same account number on them. Alas, but fun still.

Well, that's still a pretty good day, Erin. About like my experience, last weekend.

I got three boxes today from one bank (they just happened to have 'em, I didn't order 'em).

    Box 1: 3 x 40%
    Box 2: 2 x 40%
    Box 3: 7 x 40%, 2 x Franklin, 1 x Walking Liberty

I was mildly disappointed after the first two boxes, but any Franklins or Walkers make my day. I still think Walking Liberties are the most beautiful coins America has ever made.

    Have a good day all!

Yes, Erin. That was a hard one to swallow.

What happened to the Aggies who lost 100-0 to Kansas State last week? :vanish:

I didn't realize Sheffield was not going to play. Potts has been awful, and Doege (the QB played most of the second half) is a walk-on. If we don't get Sheffield back we're going to struggle. I don't know where our defense went. They looked so good against Nebraska... Oh well, same old Tech, I guess. Win a couple impressive games, then disappear :vanish:

If we have to lose, better to you than the Tea-sips...unforntunatly, they got us this year, too...

    Cent Box Results!

Just finished searching my first ever complete bank box of cents (have only searched individual rolls before). Results:

    Wheats: 58 (25 culls [all '40s and '50s], 11 '50s, 18 '40s [almost all '44s], 1 1931, 1 1925, 1 1919, 1 1917 [none of the latter better than VG])

    Canadians: 13 (including 1 1950 George VI & 1 1867/1967)

Nearly a full roll worth of 1970 BU RD scattered throughout different rolls (is this weird??)

One error coin! :thumb: Pics posted separately in Error section under "Cent Error Coin?"
