Is there such a place near Sacramento? I want to get some coins graded but I do not want to wait for 2 to 3 months. I'm thinking that there must be a place near me since SF is just up the ramp a bit. I don't want to google the info as I could run into anywhere like that. I'm seeing if someone actually has experience getting grading done while you wait? much appreciation
I know PCGS grades on site at most of the major coin shows they attend, but it's pretty expensive. I think the fee is like $200 for same day and $100 for next day service. Plus you have to be a member of the PCGS Collector's club, unless you have a dealer friend submit for you. Depending on the value of the coin, might be an option if they attend any shows near you. Otherwise you'll have to wait like everyone else.
Yeah you're right, I've heard that done in the bigger cities but not Sac. Maybe in March 2011 when the ANA comes to town. :kewl:
Well, I'm in a very small town in central NY (pop. 7,500). I see someone grading coins at the local shows but he is probably from WCA (woodchuck coin academy). I'm not a slab collector and tend to grade on my own. I find it half the fun.
