This is why I love eBay, you can get crazy deals like this: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290359909542&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT $7.18 (bid) + $3.50 (S&H) = $10.68 The ASW for the coins is 1.1oz of silver. Right now, that's $19.38 worth of silver for only $10.68! The quarters probably got little interest due to the seller's shipping price error, the title being too vague, and because they only offered shipping in canada. In the end, I'm happy with my deal and it just goes to show that eBay is not all evil, you just have to be careful.
They're worn common date Canadian quarters, definitely not worth counterfeiting and I've never encountered or heard of any worn common-date fakes. They exhibit all the signs of circulation and are toned black and brown like old silver coins.
I agree, last week I got an 1966 100 Peseta coin (Spain) for $2.25, free shipping. That's .4887 ounces of silver on the cheap.
