A 1783 post colonial issue near the end of the post colonial coinage time frame. It is dated 1783 on the obverse down by 6:00 o'clock. This is George Washington facing left on the obverse with the words WASHINGTON and INDEPENDENCE. The reverse has UNITY STATES OF AMERICA with ONE CENT in the middle of a wreath and 1/100 under the wreath. This coin has obvious wear and the lower half of the fraction (100) doesn't really show in the photos. Partly due to a weak strike but mainly the wear. Even with the wear it grades a F-VF. Not an easy coin to find but I found this by accident in an auction several years ago, about 10 or 11. Not bad for a few dollars as I was the only bidder.
Oh Dave.... I am going through a hardcore colonial coin phase these days..... I don’t think you really want that coin around....
Definitely a 3 digit coin. I love Colonial coins Randy. Wish I could afford them because I'd buy them all.
@Randy Abercrombie I really want a Franklin Press Token but I can't locate a nice one at a decent price. That is one that really fascinates me.
