ok here is one i just picked up. it isnt the prettiest note but you have to love the small sized nationals. these notes are getting harder and harder to come by. with only 244,512 notes printed who knows how many still exist. i present to you the 400th note in the chi-town collection :thumb: 1929 $5 Type I The Mutual National Bank Of Chicago Ch. # 11092
Great note, and congrats on getting note #400 for your collection! My collection, which is not focused at all (the way I like it) is at exactly 100 notes, 50 from the USA, 50 from elsewhere. None are Nationals though... Kripy, that was the National Bank's charter number. The number would not fit it if was all on top of itself. Banks who got a charter that was only 4 digits did not have doubling, from what I've gathered.
Billy, Thanks for the info. I was also thinking / wondering why the 11092 number wasn't positioned like the one on the left, rotated counterclockwise, it should fit that way on the right side too.
no it is the 400th note that i have posted on my bank note site for chicago. i wish i had 400 nationals. i have 10 small sized and 1 large sized national notes
