I think I have set a record - must see!

I am freaking out!!! Really!!!

Sitting on the couch about 8 rolls into a box of cents (bank rolled) and I think I just found the oldest coin ever in a roll of cents! I am still hyperventilating! This is by far the oldest coin ever from circulation for me and really is something else.

1836 Capped Bust Dime

Can you imagine what that must have been like to see fall onto the coffee table. I just cannot believe it!!!

Take a look. Reverse is scratched up but come on - it's 170+ years old. How does that happen???

Value? Grade? Thoughts?

FREAKING amazing, good job man! thats one hell of a find! Cant tell you grade or value because I dont mess with dimes, but that sure is a pretty coin for 170 years old

Thanks all, I really could not believe it and opened each roll afterwards just wondering what might be found. Did find a few nice wheat's and just a couple rolls after the dime I found a modern dime and then in the next roll Un Centesimo De Balboa. My first cent from The Republic of Panama. Just the wheat's after that. What a great box!!!

You know it's funny because I have an account at this bank and it was the first time I had been asked if I have a business account there. I was starting to think that they were not going to give me the box which would have lead to a discussion with the branch manager. I just need to do this anyways and offer to pay for a monthly order if necessary. Because they were boxed I think the likelihood of finding another would be extremely slim. God only knows how the coins/rolls/boxes got separated from the group this dime came from.

And that explains why it is in a cent roll??? LOL ~ If some theif was trying to make a profit, they sure did do a bad job of it. And don't worry, it's already in a 2x2 and in a safe place. It will not be touched again for many years to come.
