Dead man are done different with engineered block. We used what's called geogrid. It's used every two feet. So the two bottom walls have two courses of geogrid laid between the 2nd and 4th course of block. And the top wall has three courses. Each layer of geogrid runs straight back into the slope a distance equal to the height of the wall.

In addition, each block is pinned with two pins into the block below it.

I remember your earlier cabin pics. Snow, and those trees with the amazing yellow leaves. That’s a real “God’s Country” kind of place.

PS- @masterswimmer’s woods look pretty nice to me, too. I like woods. Could never live in a treeless area.

BTW, it’s official now. Spring has sprung in the Golden Isles, and the azaleas are popping. It’s quite the annual spectacle.

New England gets their flaming maples in the fall. Down here in the Deep South, we get azaleas in the spring for our explosion of color.

I could never live in a treeless area either. What we removed, about 2 dozen good size trees and 100's of saplings was for safety. Those saplings were touching our roof. The big trees were continually dropping limbs too close to the house.
We're surrounded on three sides by state park land. 100% wooded.

    Those azaleas are spectacular!

Rafique - welcome! Here's an extra free entry chance for you, so if the random number generator picks the number of this post (#111), you'll win, same as if it picks the entry you posted yourself (#108).

Your profile says you're from South Africa. I visited there when I was a child. Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth. I was utterly astonished at the baobab trees. Beautiful country. We sailed up the South African coast on our way to live in Tanzania for a year. It was 1972 and I was only six at the time, but Africa made a big impression on me, as you can imagine.

Thanks for the game :) I'd take the Spanish 2 Reales - the CM seems familiar, but I would need quite a bit of time to figure out exactly where I've seen it before...

I'd like the 1950D Jefferson - it's just about the only Jefferson hole that I don't expect to fill, but the Whitman hole will remain, with a reference to the PCGS slab.

I would select something like this:
or some other Austrian coin showing the inside of a cathedral.

You have nice taste. That one is in my personal collection, not the For Sale/giveaway inventory. ;)

Got it on eBay, though, in original Austrian Mint packaging. You could probably find one there. Last I looked it remains the only one certified by PCGS, since I submitted it.

(Edit- no, wait- I think I bought that one on MA-Shops, not eBay. But they're out there. Mine just happens to be the only one slabbed, at least by PCGS. And since it's a PR70 DCAM, it will always be at the top of the population. That's the only time a coin I submitted ever received a 70 grade!)

There are two 2-reales pieces in the inventory that could be chosen from, but I know which one you are talking about since you mentioned the countermark.

I can’t remember if the baobabs I saw were in South Africa or Tanzania. They were huge trees- tall and fat- and much more impressive than the Wikipedia example I linked to above for everyone else’s benefit.

More like the ones in this picture, which is from Tanzania, where we lived.

Bidding on ebay now. Thanks for the heads up. I know nothing about world coins so have no idea what anything is correctly called. Anyway I would be happy with anything showing the inside or outside of a cathedral.
