I now have one, and I think it is a very creative and beautiful note! Standard Chartered Bank 150 Dollar Note, Commemorative Charity Banknote for the 150th Anniversary Obverse: Standard Charter Bank building, map of Hong Kong in underprint, ascending serial number at lower left and upper right Reverse: Gathering of people overlooking Hong Kong Watermark: Helical symbol of the bank with number 150 under helix Size: 158 x 78 mm The packing of this commemorative note is exceptional. The Cover has a cutout window to view the numbers "150" on the note. Inside, the note is enclosed in a plastic sleeve at the right middle side. There was an insert in the package indicating the price was almost two times face value.
nice note... Whats is the background on the face? Is it a topographical map of hong kong? It sort of looks like it.....
The bank sold them for 280 HKD, but I think the last day of sale was 16 October 2009. Now, its a seller's market.
That is a very nice looking note, congrats. I wonder why there is english on it as well? Do you know how many were printed?
There's not only English, but the insert that came in the package indicates, "If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail." One million notes were printed.
What is the value of the note now? Please reply tfslasvegas@gmail.com. I purchased one when I was on a project in HKG.
