Ok everyone..it's a go...as soon as I get home from North Carolina I will talk with Connor1 and we'll set it up! Stay tuned....as more folks join it will only get better!! Stay tuned returning on Friday! RickieB
MPC Vignette's Your in great, I've bought Fred Schwan's book on MPCs & see that a few of the early MPCs used the same vignettes the BEP use on early currency,so you should have quite a few with your collection.
Some vignettes used on MPC's were also used on foreign nations currency, in one instance - Canada, several from the Philippines etc. The girl on the front of the Series 521 $10 also appeared on a 1924 Standard Bank of Canada $5 which is very rare. She also made a reappearance on the Series 661 $10, yet another great rarity.
I would like to join as well. Not sure where I will find some vignettes, but I will find some way to manage.
wiggam007 - vingettes are on each and every note from every country around the world! Some are just a sort of geometric or other pattern, but most involve peoples of importance to that country. On the US 1 dollar note is George Washington - in a central vingette portrait so finding a vingette should be easy .. the writing will be the tough part lol (at least for me!) if you need help, just ask - me or any other member should be able to help with somethign for you
Ok guy's... I am counting at current 17 mmbers. 1. Connor1 2.Scottish Money 3. Daggarjon 4. USS656 5. Clay Irving 6. North49guy 7. Noost 8. Dready 9. Bill Kingsley 10. Bobbeth 11. MPCUSA 12. Urbanchemist 13. Wiggam007 14. RickieB 15. DaveM 16. Morganman 17. Krispy 18. Tauferners So with that count if we each did 2 vignettes that would cover ~ 1/2 yr (31weeks). Additional members could join in as well and fill the spaces. Thinking about the time one decides to put into it I thought posting the weekly synopsis and vignettes could be done anytime during the assigned week, that will be up to you. I am planning to discuss this with Connor today.... For those of you interested in the Book The Engravers Line and the International Engravers Line let me know so I can speak with the Author and lobby for a group discount...so please let me know if you are interested. I know that the Noost and Connor already have this book.... We (Connor and I) will post a list later today or tomorrow with dates you can select for your vignette presentation. You can use what ever you want. I suggest that you all have a photo hosting account so you can post enlarged images that we can all see and learn from. Other than that, it is simply a personal choice. I am happy to be involved in this and look forward to each of your presentations. Regards, RickieB
this is going to be pretty cool i think! also - i DO NOT want to be first lol i dont want to be the one who sets any standard i say let the two group originators go 1st and 2nd after that, i dont much care when i go. The Engravers Line ... how much does that book cost without any discount? I just shelled out a large sum (for me anyway) so will have to work on buying the book lol
RickieB just got home from traveling & is probably shoveling snow or resting, but I will tell him you want in. connor1
just by posting, you are in no cut-off times that i know of. Just join in at any time RickieB and connor will pass out all the detials once it gets moving. (i actually think scottishmoney already started lol)
I don't believe I will be able to "schedule" a time to do a presentation and may have to do it on the fly since I maybe in my second homeland for awhile.
SM.. you can always do it in 2010...I am just trying to get an order to the submissions...on a weelky basis.. If I can help, let me know... RickieB
I don't have ITL engravers line yet, but would like to. Add me to the list for that please. Maybe we can get some discounts on some group buys of notes as well?
Hey guy's I just ordered a Limited Edition of the Intl Engravers Line that has several Notes included signed by the engravers...it was more expensive than the regular Intl Engravers Line but I thought worth it. My books were deicated to and for my son AJ. I do not think I will start collecting Intl notes, however, I do want to study them.... I am waiting for a message from the Author and will get back to you guy's on the pricing. Regards, RickieB
I have "The Engravers Line (US) but not the International ,please include me in on the Int. Engravers Line book .
Colin Wilson's Outsider This is interesting. Please include me. A couple of years back, I created CONVENTION SCRIP to pay the speakers at the MSNS Educational Forum. Although only done on my laser, I did use high quality paper, watermarked, with a security stripe already in place (legal paper). I am not an artist, but I cut and paste pretty good.
Very nice Vignette Can you photobucket.com that image or enlarge it,photobuckrt is free thats what I use & a few others on this site it works well to enlarge images, but any photo hosting could work Image looks very interesting. RickieB made a deal with the author Gene Hessler for our group, but I don't know if the The Engravers Line or the International Engravers Line is still available. Ask RickieB if still available,he would know. Thanks for sharing your image with the group & welcome aboard to our growing group.
