Mark: Shoot, sorry that we miised you, I would have loved to ask you about a few pieces of mine. Collect: Hey, sorry to miss ya. Do you ever go to the Melville show? (On LI). I wish that i had seen that Proof dime, sorry that I missed it. Billy: Sorry I miised you also. Next time we should set up a meeting place!
How is the Melville show? I heard years ago, it wasnt worth making a trip, but since I am now living close to it, I might go to check it out. Jim
Definately worth checking out Jim but I got a beef about the guy that sets up shop by the back door. Went to the show yesterday (Sunday) and was looking at some brown box Ikes that he had in inventory. I inquired what he wanted for them and he immediately goes running for his grey sheet (bells and buzzers go off in my mind). He comes back and quotes me a few prices and I go digging into my wallet. I'm standing there with the money in my hand and this guy proceeds to ignore me. After about thirty seconds I just walked away. Rube........ But please, don't let that experiance sway you. Rubes abound in every arena. There are some really good dealers at this show and I did get what I was looking for from another dealer.
Melville is a pretty good small show, I would say there's around 20 dealers. Definitely worth the trip if you're close. I missed the last show, hopefully I'll be there on the 25.
green: I know that dope. Forget him, sometimes he just goes into la-la land. You have to call to him. Wake him up.
Thanks for the heads-up on the Melville show. Can any of you give more info on where it is and when? Thanks Jim
