Well the mercury dime shots that I had were annoying me, as I had over-exposed the coin before, when I first took them, and the details overall weren't that good. This coin for some reason is so hard to photograph, I guess it is just getting the color, and details right, which is hard to do on small coins. Your thoughts? Thanks Before: After:
How about a couple of other shots of the same coin for comparison??? I took these while I was the owner of this one: And here's a couple from the previous owner of the coin: Not only are smaller coins harder to get great shots of, I thought this particular coin was pretty tough too. While coins in rattlers are usually pretty easy to photo, the slight haziness on this one was a little challenging to get a nice accurate image. T$, I think your second photo does a better job of showing the luster of the coin and I like the new obverse photo better. The new reverse photo seems a little dark to me though and also seems to be a little out of focus maybe?? Some of the reverse details just don't seem to be as sharp I guess. Of course, both are great shots and that was me just being picky
Thanks for those other shots. I think your shots show the luster best, and also make colors come out of the coin that are very hard to see. I think the owner before you has okay pics, doesn't really show luster. My new pics compared to my old ones, are a lot better that is for sure. I mean the first picture I had, the obverse and reverse were two different colors! lol Now at least I am one color, don't know if it is the right one though... Still a little dark, but it will do for now Thanks Mike
When T$ got this one from me, I had about 15 of them on eBay from MS63-MS65FB, but most were 64FB, all in Rattler slabs. Don't have any left though, sorry.
Working on Type Set, Morgan Set, and Gold Indian set, and recently had to sell everything to upgrade. I have some more coins on my wishlist but none include mercury dimes, not until later on. I'm planning to get a proof mercury dime for my type set, a little later though.
Just kinda weird for me to look at though. Made me mad that I couldn't get the coin having the same tone on each side, I finally did that, but now I think it is just too dark, although it shows detail pretty well. These coins are so hard to photograph!
