Felt like I needed to be a bit more conservative with this guesstimate, as I probably overgraded @Lehigh96's 1941 S Jefferson yesterday.
Looking closer, I revise to AU58. I see some wear on the high points of Lib's head, head of eagle, and possible top of eagle wings. IDK though, I may as well toss a coin for all my grading is worth..
Sent you a PM, so as not to hijack @Morgandude11's thread too badly. He hasn't revealed the grade yet, FWIW.
Stunning. The reverse makes me think MS60. Ms Liberty’s hair makes me think high AU. As well as her right breast and liberty cap. But from the photo, there doesn’t seem to he a luster break on her right leg. I’ll go with AU58. But wouldn’t be surprised with MS60.
AU-55. I don't see much luster and I almost went details. The obverse is kinda weakly struck, stars are mostly flat and the hair weakness is mostly strike, not wear. I think it's been cleaned by dipping which is why most of the luster is gone, assuming the photos are showing it fairly accurately. I would call this a market-acceptable 55. Now, in the great tradition of Coin Talk GTG, I am prepared to be humiliated on the point of my own opinion.
