In case you missed it, PMG had a story and post about Disney Dollars. https://www.pmgnotes.com/news/article/8948/PMG-Registry-News/ View all of them here: https://notes.www.collectors-societ....aspx?PeopleSetID=23071&SelectedTab=Slideshow
You wouldn’t believe how many people are in to Disney Dollars ( me included ) and what there willing to pay..LOL , here’s one I sold recently for $ 525
I still have a few Disney dollars from 1987 Would these be considered (and is there such a thing?) as the Currency equivalent of "Exonumia"? If so, does the currency version have a name like "Exonumia"??
Disney Dollars are there own animal...LOL, have sold allot over the past couple of months, the reason there so popular is because they appeal to a wide variety of people both young and old
I did some more searching ad it appears that the Currency version of Exonumia are referred to as "Novelty Notes" I have a few Disney dollars, maybe I'll sell them and just keep one
Several stores along Route 66 in Arizona accept Mother Road Bucks at face value! Very similar to Disney Dollars; however they are not nearly as popular and I can't even find a single example on eBay. Technically, they are considered "gift certificates" that you can purchase for $1 USD, and then use that gift certificate at participating stores. The caveat is that they actually can and will circulate, as the teller keeps the bills in his till, and will make change in MRBs upon request.
