I was chosen randomly to do a diary for a company in Md. on radio stations..they sent five dollar bills with the letter...I found it a little odd that every dollar ended in 78, and one inparticular was only one digit different, still ending in 78...is this odd to anyone else?

Can't see the serial numbers on that image...too small. Does seem odd...like someone cut apart a sheet from BEP.

As long as every bill dose not have the exact sameSN # providing they are from the same district and same series.. you should be fine....

I have sheets of notes ending in the same last 2 and 3 numbers...the numbers before the last 2 or 3 are diferent! They appera to be from Richmond "E"

    dollar bills

    Dursin-
Impressive collection, even with you ending it on a worn out note...funny...

You have me a little interested in collecting some bills now...up until now I looked through just coins...may just have to get started on the paper money now...what would you suggest for a beginner to look for and start with?

    Thanks

That's a tough question. Depends on what your interests are and what your budget is like. I prefer small size and that also works well with a limited budget. For a beginner, I'd probably start with some $1 Silver Certificates...definitely including a "funnyback" as well as some $2 and $5 United States Notes (red seals). Then maybe pick up an affordable large size note like a 1899 Black Eagle.

I'd also check out a few sites to learn some of the basics. Here's a couple good ones to start with.
