Spend it quick before it loses anymore value - haste makes waist.

I keep them all, paper roll the average, and 2x2 the high grades.
    Never know...
Plus I absolutely love all 3 designs for the bicentennial.
Especially the proofs. The quarter is exceptional.

When I've bought a box of halves to roll search, there are usually 50 or more in all grades. No, I don't keep them. They are so common that I just can't see them ever being more than face. Mint state or proof, you might have something, but other than that, I'd spend.

I like the quarter also but in a hundred, no a thousand even a million

I like the quarter also but in a hundred, no a thousand, even a million years from now they will not be rare - everyone saved them, nobody wants them (on the market anyway) - they are everywhere, boxes, rolls, bags, boxes, drawers, cabnets, buckets, bladabladabla.
It is the only single coin to be included (have a represenitive) in every group that every person ever brings into every coin show and shop and will be for all time.

The post asked if he should keep it or spend it.
You guys can keep what you want but not me.

I just like them personally, for their historic representation and their overall design.
Not for their resale $ value.
I just got 4 of the 3-piece proof set's yesterday, stole all 4 of them for $25 shipping included.
Sorry I thought it was a poll for collection and not resale purposes. :kewl:

No problem this site is for collection and collection includes

No problem this site is for collection and collecting includes all things related to that, one of which is re-sale value and rarity, but the person asked about weather he should spend it of keep it or not.
When a coin has a mintage of 16 billion, (i'm going off the top of my head here) - I think one was 800,000 million and one was close to 900,000 (whatever that equals) plus all the proofs and one out of two was saved, well you gey my drift.
If he had asked "do you like the design" or "do you think it's worth saving gem mint state coins" then perhaps my answer would have been different but not a lot - I do like the quarter, the half is horrible, and the Ike, well, it's an Ike what can I say.
Sometimes I come off to abrupt and I really don't mean to.

As I voted, spend them. Always reminds me of back when those were the hot item, myself and a friend started to collect the Quarter ones. Eventually I had hundreds of dollars worth and he had over a thousand dollars worth. Not long ago at a coin show I attempted to see what I would be offered for them. Best offer was $0.24 each as an idea of how much in demand those were. Same with the half dollar ones.

I general don't keep them, but the other day I picked up three rolls and one were all BU bicentennials so I did keep them. For what reason I have no ideal, I just like them.

Oh no biggie, they're definitely plentiful!

I voted to only keep in high grades mainly b/c I didn't see an option to vote for more than one, otherwise I agree with the others to spend. I personally like the design so I keep the BU ones when I find them but I don't want more than a couple rolls worth (which I have now, so I keep the best examples). They are so plentiful wouldn't expect there to ever be much of a premium for them.
