Just purchased this note and I thought I would share it with all of you. The note is a ten Gulden from Suriname dated 1963. At the time this note was printed Suriname was a Dutch colony and the printer was Joh, Ensched en Zonen from the Netherlands. I hope you all like it. :smile Lou

Suriname is a country with a lot of lovely notes, but of course I like the ones with the ladies on them more. The Joh Enschede en Zonen notes are really fascinating, a bit of a different printing process than usual. They printed many Dutch notes, but also for the Dutch colonies, and places as far away and varied as Syria of all places.
LSM... That is a very striking note! :high5: I love the colors and the vignettes alot! I am planning on doing a study of foreign engravers next year if all goes well...The left side on the reverse is just cool, the colors are deep and very nice. What does all the fine print say at the bottom of the reverse?? RickieB
Scottish, Joh Enschede en Zonen do make some interesting notes. I have a couple of Netherland notes by them and they are colorful!!! Lou
You would get up to nine years in prison for counterfeiting (left), and a fine of max. 300 gulden for something like unauthorized use of the design (right) ... Christian
