    Amberjack,

Apparently the 2009 one ounce gold bullion Noble with the Viking ship reverse is on the same track as the 1994 series. I DID get an order through to Baird & Co. in London BUT, after they received my funds, they told me "No small quantities are sent to the USA."

I was sent a refund losing $30+ as the value of the dollar had gone down. The one on eBay was re-listed and ended up selling for around $1,025. The seller blamed Nigerian scammers for the original $4,400 bid.

94 was weird. The Isle of Man Parliament authorized it and dies were made. No one seems to know why no coins were made until this Mr. Bruyer was touring the mint, and learned of the missing date of issue. Somehow he persuaded them to strike the coins, leaving th 94 date. Then, miracle of miracles, Preferred Collectibles Club acquired the entire inventory of 94s. Right after I got mine the web catalog said, "sold out". Of course it could all be a ruse to trip up the gullible Southerner...

    2009 G/S Noble Proof 70

Anybody know what a 2009 Isle of Man 15th Anniversary Bimetal Gold/Silver Noble Proof depicting a gorgeous viking ship is worth? There are only 139 in existence.

    Amberjack,
Are you happy with the price you paid for the PF 69 G/S Noble Proof from 1st Federal? I'm thinking of ordering one. It looks stunning.

    1994 Viking Noble

VEry pleased! Pricey? Yes, at $3KUSD/oz it was expensive. but it wasn't struck ikn 1994, but several years later. It did keep the 1994 date and was graded MS69 & 70..only. I missed the 70s (+$1,000US) but this is the best coin I'v seen in a long time. If you can actually fine a 1oz and the price hasn't doubled, I think about...not that I'm giving investment advise or anything.

They're rare, even in the fractional series. An to be a "first year of issue; 1994" at that. Well, this old southern redneck couldn't resist.

If you get one, I hope you enjoy as much as I have. Let me know what you decide to do.

I bought one with a 30-day return option. I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival. My understanding is that there were only 137 minted. I'll let you know when I receive it.
