1991 cent doubled all over

    Can't find any reference to these so I assume it is machine doubling of some sort.

    This coin must have rattled around a bit, almost every letter shows some doubling.

    The mint packaging sure left its mark, it a came out of an 1991 UC set.

    Great pictures. I like what's happening on 'Liberty' but it's kind of blurry to be sure. any way to clear it up?

    Yep that's machine doubling. There is also some effect on the obverse of the coin being struck through grease. That doesn't help the situation :) either.

    I agree with Bill, MDD and struck through grease on the obverse...

    Oh that's Md all the way shelf like images indeed/ you could tell that's a grease job by the smooth texture on the surface of the fields

    I came to that conclusion because parts of the surface lack mint luster and have the dull appearance of the what the metal looks like on a planchet.

    The example below is a obverse lightly struck through grease.
