    If they do mint in China, what will be the lead content in quarters and how will all the recalls effect coin collecting? :smile

    Now go compare that to a chart showing the value of a US dollar. But wait - you don't have to. It'll look just like that one does upside down.

    I would think it will look the same since gold is up about 4X over the past 8 years or so and the dollar is down or perhaps flatish depending on the starting point.

    You know what is really a conspiracy? I keep reading about coin prices dropping but every place I go to buy they haven't come down at all. Coincidence? I think not!

    Recently I was at a coin show and picked up a 1 oz silver bar marked $16. The dealer said to me, "It's yours for $17." :confused: I told him it was marked $16 and I asked him if he would take $15. "Nope. It's $17 now." I say this is a conspiracy. :eek:

    Well, that wasn't really a coin now, was it. Bullion is up, which is why that happened.

    That particular sub-thread was merely a defense of gold bug newsletter writers. They aren't always wrong.
