I had heard of silver certificates, but I had never seen any, until last year, when I inherited two of them! This one is one of them. It's my only Federal Large Size note. It's been through heck, but I treasure it. I actually WON this one on another message board, by correctly guessing the 888 final three numbers in the serial number....I have always been fascinated by the #8...and 888 has always been "my" number...so I guessed it...and won! Condition wise, without a doubt this is the best note in my collection. This is the other Silver Certificate I inherited. It's too bad somebody decided to apparently test their pen on it. And what's worse, it looks like ball point pen, so it was probably NOT done when the note was new... I purchased this note.
You should buy a BEP "Lucky Money 8.8.8 Set": [FONT=Arial,Helvetica]This set features a crisp uncirculated Series 2006 $1, Series 2003A $2, and Series 2003 $5 Federal Reserve Note with (matching serial numbers) beginning with “888XXXXX.” This set is attractively presented in a decorative folder, with each note encased in a protective clear acid-free polymer sleeve. Billy - now here you hit upon the notes i love lol The blue is awsome IMHO cool notes and boy are you on fire today lol are you trying to win the record of the most new threads
that is a good idea Clay, thanks! I will look into it! Jon, I realized I had not posted hardly any of my currency on here...and I was busy uploading a bunch of videos to YouTube...So I needed to be on the computer to keep it from going into stand by and stopping the video upload...I decided to be more productive then sitting here playing Bejeweled the whole time, LOL! I have a little bit more to post, but I will spread it out some. I need to rescan some of my notes, before I can post them Thanks for the comments!
i didnt mean to make you stop posting notes its like a fix to me... seeing all these notes... i need that fix often
Well, I finished uploading the videos (I had 44 to do!) so I went to bed I don't want to post them all now because then I would have nothing to talk about.....I only add new notes very, very rarely! I probably won't be able to resist and post them by this time next weekend anyway! LOL
post away Even if you run out of things to post ... between running out and getting more, you always welcome to comment on others :thumb: I do love the 5 you posted above. A nice higher grade SC always shows the blue so bright Much better then a bright red LT
True indeed! I will post some more later today, I think I never did get to rescanning some of my notes, so I will do that and I have a few world notes to post, too! That one $5 really is something, until I got that one I had never seen an uncirculated Silver Certificate! They look much better when they are not all wrinkly, LOL!
That's a great start. The $5 looks to be in really nice shape...I think I remember the contest you won that one in!
