Finally took some pics of my new 1866 proof 2 center. Still working on optimum lightning, etc. With all the discusisons on Heritage I thought I would post this. My experience in having Heritage bid on this on my behalf worked out well. Their service levels were fantastic, can't say enough good about them.
Thanks everybody, I'm really happy with it. I think the two small carbon spots on the obverse kept it from being a 65. The fields and color are fantastic. Hopefully this winter I can work on the photo skills needed to really show it off.
On their web site I placed a bid that at the close of internet bidding was high bid, but still below my absolute maximum. When the bidding went live the bid increased but Heritage placed bids for me that were higher than the highest live bid placed. I had to be aggressive to win this one, but still paid a bit below Numismedia pricing. Paid too much to turn it, but it's not for sale, its for my Registry set.
Beautiful coin Guy , great color , don't you just love it when you win the coin you wan't . Can't say enough about my experiences at Heratige either , Here's to the next win . rzage
Thanks I know what you mean on a great win. When I get the pic thing down the color and surfaces will really jump out at you. It's on my winter list.
Beautiful 2 cent coin , don't you love that live bidding ,especially when you win with the highest bid , its a great feeling :thumb:
