I've been back and forth with this type for months now...and they seem to be getting more and more expensive. Anyways, I was drawn to this one due to the surface quality and toning. Not the strongest strike, but the surfaces are way above average compared to what I usually see. I am SOO excited about this coin! Now I just need the "no motto", and I'm down to needing only two coins to complete the DANSCO! Opinions?

    VERY NICE!

As I'm sure you know, these are not easy coins to find nice -- I've been looking for three years now for a nice example and have come up empty.

    Congrats!

Thanks for the comments! Yeah, even certified ones seem to look kind of scrubbed up much of the time. There are a lot of blast white VF/XF's in slabs; and it makes you wonder how they got there. I'm hoping this one is original, but if it has been cleaned, at least it was done a long time ago. I purchased this one from Jerry Typecoin. He gave me a discount since I "ended the listing" on a coin previously that he had accidentally listed way too inexpensively.

FWIW, Jerry is one of the few e-bay sellers that I like and keep an eye on his auctions. (I was kind of hard on eBay in a post in another thread, and wanted to temper those comments.) Glad to hear he did you right.

That coin looks really nice, hard to find them without a lot of hits or, as you mentioned, surface 'improvements.' Congrats!
