reverse. Originally the 2010 Lincoln cent had 18 design proposals submitted for the reverse of the coin. Now the choice will be made from the final 4 designs, LP02 / LP10 / LP13 / LP17 , and the choice will be made by the U. S. Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy F. Geithner. After looking at the 18 designs submitted , some I liked and some not so much, after looking at the final four the one I liked the most is still in the running LP17. So what choice would you folks have made from the original 18 designs :smile http://2010lincolncents.com/2010-lincoln-cent-design-proposals/
This guy can't decide about tieing shoes whether to use the loop, swoop, and pull, or the bunny ears. How can he decide the fate of the penny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:headbang::desk:
I like 11-16 13 being hte least out of those. but i like 13 the most out of " LP02 / LP10 / LP13 / LP17 "
I hope the shield (LP-13) is chosen. I certaintly don't want to see another building. I don't think the eagle would work well on such a small coin as the cent. The flag is different, but I think it's a bit boring. The shield is a unique union symbol. I thought it was primarily down to the two designs in the CFA and CCAC recommendations. Does anybody have any insight on how often the recommendation of CFA or CCAC is chosen as the final design? I'm a fairly new collector, so I'm not sure about the past design proposals and recommendations and such. Go shield cent! :kewl:
I like Lp1-11-16-17 But hey...who am I ? I bet they choose one of the Capitol buliding submissions. Ohhh the Statue of Freedom's name is "Columbia" RickieB
I liked 18. But, I think it would have been neat to see 18's design with a shield behind the wheat stalks. I just don't want to see another building on coins, especially boring Grecko-Roman style buildings...that says nothing to...well, anyone. Guy~
I really like the LP17 with that eagle they did a good job with that one. But like was mentioned I don't think it will transfer very well to such a small coin So my choice is LP13 the Shield, Very nice clean design that gives the feel of some of the classic designs of the past. Can't wait to see which one they actually pick. My bet would go with the Capital Dome:headbang: Just my 2c Stewart
They ruled out the wheat stalks because of its similarities to a German coin , I actually think it was a top runner , would have been a cooool pick :smile
I was really getting tired of looking at all those Lincioln Memorial buildings for so many years :goofer:
A penny is about as wasteful as a coin can possibly be and tells future generations and the world that we don't care about waste. Certainly Congress should adorn this coin.
Where do you get the information that 2 and 13 are still in the running? The other two were the recommendations of the two advisory committees, I would think that the final choice would now be just between 10 and 17. Of course the Sec can decide to ignore the recommendations and select any of them, but that would take the guts to make a decision on his own and that kind of independent action just doesn't happen in Washington anymore. Can't make a decision without checking the results of a half dozen or more opinion polls. If they don't agree then keep delaying and take more polls until they DO agree an then that's YOUR decision too. That's probably his problem. The advisory committees didn't pick the same design, now he has to make a choice, and he doesn't know what to do. (Which is why we have been waiting close to five months for his decision between 10 and 17.)
