I got a 1901 indiand head cent in change this weekend. I was exited. It is the oldest coin I have found in circulation, and in decent shape to. Most of liberty is readable.

VERY cool. That has never happened to me......I've never even found an IHC roll searching.

    Great find!

You mean you don't think it has been circulating continuously for the past 108 years??? ;)

I got one in change at a McDonalds around 4-5 years ago, a worn and slightly bent 1907. Also found one in my first ever attempt at searching a $25 box of cents, it was a 1901 in Fine condition. Pretty cool to get these for face value!!!!!

    There may be more.

If you know where you got it, go back & ask if you can have change for a few dollars. Maybe $2 in change if they can spare it from the register.....:smile

I was actually working a register when I got it. ;) I find a few good coins that way.

    I know a place where, for a mere $25, you have a chance of finding a 1909s VDB! ;)

    Definitely a great find!

I used to be a cashier and would always bring home wheats and some silver dimes and quarters - but I never found a Indian Head. What fun!!

    Nice!

I know how you feel, since I found one too last December...
    except it was dated 1887.

But yeah, seeing that wreath and shield... woo!

I too have been lucky enough to find an IHC in change in the last year, an 1887, as seen in my album page.
