Replacement Julia Tyler on the way. Email was received tonight. I will probably receive it on Tuesday so cross your fingers and hope for the best. I am glad I ordered it when I did because the way gold has been climbing, prices would have jumped way up.

Why do you suppose the Mint took them off sale?

This link should answer the question...

    http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/uscode31/usc_sec_31_00005112----000-.html

    Ref: U.S. Code 31; Section 5112; Subsection O-5A

This suggests that the US Code prohibits issuance of any Spouse coin outside the period of issuance of the corresponding President coin. That's the way it reads to me, anyway. :thumb:

if gold traded between an average of $1,000.01 to $1,050.00 an ounce. then the spouses gold proof will be $679.00 each and uncirculated at $666.00 each. just a reminder.

now it is hard to tell which of these four spouses will be the lowest mintage before 2010 come. here are the uncirculated version:

    letitia tyler - 1,976 pc
    julie tyler --- 1,535 pc
    sarah polk ---- 921 pc
    margaret taylor - coming soon

My magic 8-ball predicts the "Unc" Anna Harrison to finish between 3600 and 3800. ;) ...barring some major buying spurt in the last week. If another coin goes lower than that...I'll be amazed! :goofer:

Who's going to be lining up for the Mrs. Fillmore coin??? or Mrs. Andrew Johnson??? or Mrs. Hayes???

Also, will there be folks other than the set builders who buy the Alice Paul coin who wasn't even a First Spouse?????????

I think we will see some ridiculously low mintages on these, especially if gold prices stay high.

in order to boost the spouses gold. the mint have to lowering one bracket on its price chart. it is too expensive. even expensive than buying gold bullion from the dealers.

I'm not a big fan of Millard "Last of the Whigs" Fillmore...but his wife may have been a real Babe! Have you seen a picture of Alice Paul (hubba!, hubba!) ...of course, she's only 16 in this picture ).

I was on the AMPEX site a few days ago and saw they have FS coins for sale...but only have about a third of them "In Stock". My experience is that folks act screwy :goofer: when you tell them they can't have something.

If the Secondary market starts pushing these coins...2008-2009 could turn out to be the low mintage years. If I'm wrong, and mintages drop further...well, that's just insane! Seriously, how low do you think the mintages can go? ...less than 1000?

You'll also notice that I don't have enough faith in my "guess" to take credit for it...I blamed my "Magic 8-Ball".

I can't believe that the mint has sold as many Polk as they have.
