Best regards, And what I hope is that we opened the door to a few more folks about the World of Paper Money, it's history and it's appeal. RickieB
Congrats winners! I have been away for a bit so I missed this contest but your contests are always top notch RickieB!
Congratulations winners! And a big thank you to RickieB for putting together this very in depth contest. I do feel that I learned and was provided greater insight into the nuances of Paper Money and will appreciate this aspect of numismatics more in the future. I'm sure I'll be looking more carefully at older notes when I encounter them too. I also have some new reference books to pick up and start studying since delving into this contest. Cheers!
The Noost has selected the $5 Silver Certificate Star Note as his prize... Connor 1 this means you will receive the $10 Series 1934 C CHCU St. Louis Note..... Wiggam007.....your prize is a mystery prize...meaning you will have to wait until it gets to you. As with all my past contest, my request to you is please post an image of the prize when you receive it as proof that I sent it. all prizes will be sent insured for current value.... Congrats again to all who played...seems like I need to get smarter cuz all of you are pretty sharp!! :kewl:  RickieB
Thanks to RickieB for the contest, the suspense of what the mystery note might me will probably be killing me in a couple of days. Congrats to the Noost and Connor, you guys blew it out of the water! If you don't mind me asking, what did you guys miss? I couldn't even answer some of them and then completely blew some of them from simple mistakes/over thinking them.:headbang: The thought of a harder contest for the next one is a little unnerving... guess I will need to go get a book or two so I can keep up with these guys!
Congratulations Congratulations to my fellow winners Noost and Wiggam007 on winning the contest ! Rickie you did a great job ! Thanks, connor1
congratulations winners! I got like 99.99 of the questions wrong. Only thing I learned, I suck at notes and stick with coins...which I only semi-suck at..lol
For your first time in a Paper Money Contest you should be proud! so you missed quite a few answers but hey, you did that with coins in the beginning too right? Just think of all the notes you handle in your job! You could be missing a gold mine... RickieB
my first find following the PM contest Well it's only a drop in the bucket, but since focusing all last weekend on Notes, just today I plucked a 10 year old, 1999 $1 SF Star Note with SN# L00143037* in pretty decent (krispy) shape out of my change. :kewl: I think I'll keep it. Looks like a run of 640,000 and there are some eBay Sellers asking as much as $8-$15 range for similar notes.
There was a prize in it after all for you, my friend! :smile :smile RickieB ALL prizes will be mailed out on Friday!!
Just got on here after a long last couple days at work, but Congrats to the winners! I actually kind of felt bad for doing this contest because I was afraid I took someone elses spot that had a better chance to win than me, but I enjoyed it anyway and learned a lot! Thanks for the contest! I was happy to get my 2 correct answers, I worked hard for them...lol
Just got home and found a large package from RB in my mailbox. And the Mystery Note is..... A $5 Kansas City 2006 (I) from 2008! Interestingly, I didn't know that the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank covers Wyoming. If I start getting some notes, I think I know what district I will collect them from
