you're right again krispy. why not have a complete gold denomination coinage. people might handle it with care every time they buy something. and also check if those gold coins were real or fake. maybe we can also see a lot of punch mark too.
...and merchants will have scales to weigh gold to help determine authenticity at the till again. I can't wait to stand in line behind someone paying in gold coin, needing to go through the waiting/weighting game just to buy a pack of gum. This will also give a whole new meaning to a gold credit card too. :rolling:
let's count how much we gonna spent and how many coins in total. 56 (p) + 56 (d) = 112 statehood 56 (p) + 56 (d) = 112 am beauty total 224 coin and $56.00 which is not bad at all. let's proceed further: 56 (s) statehood proof + 56 (s) am beauty proof = 112 proof quarter. this cost you more due to premium attached. then we have satin finish. another few hundred coins with premium. early years of statehood doesn't have satin finish. i think the mint started from 2005 if i am not mistake. and then we want rolls or bags from the u.s. mint. rolls from the banks. and some other mint products with quarters. it might cost you $10,000.00 to complete it.
No the denomination will be quarter dollar. Yes that's right five oz silver quarters. It's in the authorizing legislation. Well since in the 8th year of the program the Sec of Treas can decide to extend it for another 11 years, there is a good change that they will start the second round that year.
the best part is to change again the obverse of washington. say his face turn right. or any new design. so that it won't be bore.
One idea they can do with Washington's portrait is to have a facing portrait similar to the Jefferson nickel. The current 5 cent piece really sticks out as the only circulating US coin to have a facing bust. Don't get me wrong, I like that, but here's a chance to change all of the circulating coinage to facing busts of that type, which would also match the paper money as well. But who am I to suggest creativity, boldness, and common sense to the Mint? Another issue (cited above) is the denomination of the 5oz silver pieces. They obviously can't just blow up all of the quarter legends. And I also see some possible trouble with increasing the size of a design to a large coin that was originally designed for a small coin. What happens to the detail, or rather, lack of detail? Just wondering. I'll just stick with the regular silver proof sets, I think. But if the designs are stunning (hoping again), perhaps I'll buy them at that time.
Oh, I guess I should add that the small "golden" dollars all have facing busts too, so the Mint can do it. I guess I forgot about those because there's some debate about whether the small dollars actually "circulate" or not!!
i also wonder why the territorial were mixed with 50 state?. and the year 2021 is only a single quarter left. why not put 6 territorial quarter last?.
maybe for a future park currently trying to be nationalized or for a new state who will have a park in need of quarter commemoration.
why not make a coin to commemorate the philippines. she was once a territorial of the united states of america. then became a commonwealth. just like the puerto rico. now she is independence. but then. we are talking about commemorative. so we can also commemorate the philippines. a special quarter featuring gen. macarthur and pres quezon landing the leyte gulf against the japanese empire during second world war. what you think?. krispy?.
Well, the US has already been there and put the flag down. Now just needs to pass national park legislation. Besides Russia, JAXA and ESA space programs are further ahead than China's program, currently.
