2009 Mint Uncirculated Sets Release date out. Oct 1. Going to load the boat on these.:hail: http://mintnewsblog.blogspot.com/2009/09/us-mint-news-quick-updates.html http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProdschedView?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001#
I agree with you 1000%. It's affordable for purchasing as many sets as you can. Great, great starter sets for kids and grandkids.
what are these going to sell for? face would be 14.38? 4 presidents, 1 native american, 1 kennedy, 6 quarters, a dime a nickel and 4 cents times 2.
Does anyone know if there's a benefit to getting a "subscription" for these sets? Are subscription orders filled first?
I got the subscription because I seem to never to remember the date to order anything so that's my gaurantee I'll get one. I blew it on the LP1's and completely missed out so I'm taking no chances anymore and for years to come.
The preliminary price for the set is $27.95, an increase of $5 from the prior year. That is an extra $5 for an extra 28 cents in coins. One more quarter plus three more pennies.
The one benefit (as per Zeke) is you don't have to think about it. Your order is automatically filled. No hovering around the computer at 11:30, on the day the set is issued, waiting for the 12:00 release. Another benefit is that you're assured these things won't sell out before you've had a chance to order them. As to the question of whether or not subscription orders are filled first, my experience has been mixed. On some occasions people who order on the first day of release have received their sets days (sometimes weeks) before I've gotten mine.
I think the 2009 Set will be very special also. Unlike with the proof 95 percent copper Lincolns where you can get them in the clad and silver proof sets and also order all 4 of them in a single lens, the 2009 mint uncirculated set will be the only way to get the 95 percent copper Lincolns in business strike. On mintage since they are being released not until October I don't think the mintage will be very high. The last 3 years the mintages have been 847,361, 649,076 and 663,136. I think the mintage will be somewhere in that ballpark and the demand will be much higher due to the 95 percent copper Lincolns. Just my thoughts.
it will be the lowest of all 2009 lincoln cent. proof cent and unc cent already got a lot. satin finish will be very low compare to others.
Thanks. I do know that these are satin finish coins. I guess I just didn't feel like typing that mint sets coins are the collectors coin versions of business strike coins.
Yes, it's amazing! I used to get the mint sets just to aquire the business strikes in a protective display. Now, I still have to find the actual business strike, just to get all of the varieties. Makes my head hurt sometimes!!!
That's been my experience, too. :headbang: Funny thing...I wasn't expecting my first subscription. The package was sent from the "Fullfillment Center". I thought someone sent me a bible. hya:
