Ok, so my friend brought over this coin today wanting me to sell it on ebay. Now this is the 1st time I saw 1 so please help me. Where is the MM located, how do I tell if the cardboard was opened, How do I tell if it's cerculated or un? And anything else you could tell me would be excellent, She doesnt have time to wait for grading, so if you could help me out that would be excellent. I tried to get the best pictures I could but the plastic gives a bit of glare. If you need me to host more pictures let me know. I just need to make her some fast cash, so what do you think this would go for at best value, fast? Thank you all very much.

There's really no need, the coin is well circulated.

It's worth less than $10, probably closer to $5.

    aarrrggggghhhh

alright, I trust in the knowledge of people here, I will wait awhile longer before I list it tho, and when I take diffrent pictures do you guys say it's ok to pull it out since it's circulated? I did notice alot of the big sellers there was camo and real sharp detail. But you never know. I guess she will have to take the 7 day auction value then to get what she was hoping for w a quick sale.

The mint mark is above the Bell on the reverse. I don't see one on yours so it would be a Philly mint. The key on Franklins are lines on the bell as they are the first to wear off. The bell on this coin is smooth so it is well circulated. It would probably grade at between G4 and VG8 (a guess with lack of a good pic). There is no problem taking it out of the flip if you need to. However, it is well circulated and shouldn't sell for more than $6 or so unless you get two people who need this date with their testosersone levels forcing them into a bidding war, lol.

Based on the silver value in the coin at today's silver price, the "melt value" is $5.5375. Silver has been on the rise, so it is probably a good time to sell it. Good luck.

All the above looks sound & true. And Yippie! My 20 new Frankies arrived today.....With Full Bell Lines!

Looks like I should glove up and fondle them a bit before shipping them back out before the market dives again

I was hoping to snap a few pics REAL SOON just because I get more detail from the Pics than I can with my naked eye.

But Minutes into this thread, Spouseness informed me I must escort her to the Cell Phone store to replace her just dropped Phone......

    '63 D's & FULL BELL LINES......I Think. We'll see.:hail:

I agree, this coin is well circulated and only worth it's melt value.

Whether it's 7 days or 3 it's not gonna matter that much. The half dollars with the cameo are usually proof coins and hers is a mint state coin. It is what it is, with some nice pics you may get $5 to $7 but it's just a simple 1951 half dollar and a bit worn to boot.

My guess is you will get more if you pay for shipping, that's just my 2 cents.
    good luck helping your friend

No idea what you mean by "missing chunks" and the pics are too small to see the coins.

    Care to explain ?

I'm dealing with my old lady & her broken cell phone:rolling:.

    So Photos are quick & not so good. The bottom of the bell;
is this natural? Otherwise the Frankie's are fine!! (Right weight @12.5 G & pass the magnet test)

Hopefully the photos will be bigger this time.
