Just courious as to what the qualifications are. I think I saw someone on here that was one. Maybe he can answer this.
Number one is for them to have an opening. Number two is to have a resume that they like. Number three is to pass their test.
Guilty as charged. Basically, one needs to be proficient enough at grading to be able to demonstrate it for whomever is doing the hiring. I never took a formal test, but had formerly worked with one of the owners of NGC before I was hired. And I had known and done business with the other person there whose decision it was. So he also already knew what type of grading eye I had.
It would help not to be like me, too. Even if I could grade good enough to be a grader, I'd sit there all day admiring the coins that piled up on my desk, wishing I had this and that, that I'd never get any work done. Another reason I couldn't work in a coin shop also. Guy~
