Hello CT. What are your thoughts on this off-center struck 1853 large cent. Let me hear your opinions the good, bad and the ugly. :)
    Thanks. 20210315_020743.jpg 20210315_020743.jpg 20210315_020756.jpg

Would this not be considered Broad struck? On the obverse there is
not any of the design missing, usually occurring with off center struck
coins. The reverse is centered and complete.

The 3 in the date looks a little weird

Old coins that had the dates hand-punched into the dies can be quirky. This is not a bad thing at all.

That is a lovely piece; not only a cool error, but it has nice surfaces as well. It is likely worth a couple hundred dollars at a minimum.

A misaligned die (MAD) maybe... as tibor said if it were an off-center both sides would have to be off-center. Sure is cool to look at.

I believe that @spirityoda is correct. This is most likely
a Misaligned die (MAD) as they state.

on a broadstrike, the reverse would be affected as well. Mis-aligned die IMO.

This is the most common date for a
    Large Cent Mis-Aligned Obv. Die.

    Very common and easily found.

This is a misaligned-die strike, not an off-center. At least three die varieties of 1853 large cents are quite common as misaligned strikes. And this is one of them. Examples of off-center and Broadstruck large cents are shown below. 1853 N-09 DWH VF20 Off Center.jpg 1854 N-29 DWH VF25 Broad Strk.jpg
