don't tell me that same bull that banks are a business and have a right to sell you boxed coins for a fee, I was a customer and a 5/3 branch tried that bull on me!! I wanted to order halves not take from their inventory or other customers, they get the money from the local fed at no cost, they are already buying coins and the armored car expense is nothing to them, the bank took $$$MILLIONS in TARP money from the good ole taxpayer and they want to give us few coin collectors crap!! new law needs to address this. this is the problem, banks are lazy greedy azzes and nolonger go out of their way for customers, instead they will lie to you because they could careless. wells fargo also took TARP money and for them to turn away someone is bull, keep the calls to your congressman and call the local federal resaerve to complain you will be heard!!!

It costs the banks money to order, transport, store, and handle the coins.

Astimes get tighter, less people are taking out loans. Then we find out what services the banks are (I should say were) losing money on. Part of returning to profitability is to eliminate these freebees.

Banks have a right to make a profit. Would you prefer that they increase the mortgage rates? Charge for checking? Increase the ATM fees? One way or another they are going to take in the same amount of money to make a profit.

    think about it

if you order coins from a bank in advance it cost them nothing , how can that be you ask?? simple minds open you brain, the bank is always ordering coin from the federal reserve with no cost for this service since we the tax payer pick up that expense, they simply order your amount with their business order for coin, it comes on same armored car costing no more to bank since they are already paying for it to deliver the coin for a business clients, so why is this a problem?? where are they losing?? to lazy to deal with 1 out of 1000 customers who may be a roll searcher?? I am not talking new pennies sir , that is a another story, this is just plain greedy lazy fools at banks who careless about customer service, roll searchers are a very small % of the people who use the bank. of course none of you would careelss they have billions of our tax money but can't make a simple transaction for a box of pennies or halves!!!

Now that I know that, I can advise the bank I retired from that they should sue Brinks for a refund of the thousands of dollars in fees they paid over the years. Please PM your address so I can send someone to interview you and learn more about the armored car companies ripping off banks and the government by collecting duplicate fees.

I say find another bank. Mine has always been all too happy to get me all the coins I want at nothing more than face value and a smile. Do your part, if they won't do theirs.

Greedy?? The sole purpose of a company is to make a profit. If they don't, they close (or take bailout money today). Yes, I care that "they have billions of our tax money". That is all the more reason they need to make a profit. I want them to pay the money back. If they can't, the taxpayer loses his (and my) money and the bank will go TU so the FDIC has to pay more money (while taxpayer loses more of his (and my) money).

As for Brinks delivering it for free, I guess the banks paperwork fills itself in, the coins just appear at the truck to be loaded, they unload themselves at the correct location and then they allow you to get them out of the vault so the tellers do't spend any time doing it. FREE?? Yea, right?

Sure I would like everything to be free, I remember when flying was a pleasure, a nice meal, everybody dressed as if for church, but when everyone takes advantage of things eventually they had to either charge for some things they never used to charge for, or they had to fold their tents and quit shop.
I can remember when you could get 4% on your passbook savings acct and a mortgage for 6 percent, when the eccentric widow used to wash her jewelry and hang it outside on her clothesline to dry and people laughed at it but nobody thought of taking what was hers.

If the big wigs at these banks weren't so grossly overpaid and recieving outraegous bonuses, maybe they would have never needed a loan from John Q. Taxpayer. Geez, who would of ever thought a banker was greedy. When it comes to bankers, I have zero sympathy...

Try Chase bank. They seem happy to get goins and have some specials going right now. Just don't use them for your dump bank as well.

That's not true. They have to increase the order from the armored car company and thus are charged more by the armored car company to handle and deliver their order. That's why some banks charge a fee. The same is true for businesses who get change orders from banks...many banks charge a fee for it for the same reason.

It's simple - change banks until you find one that does it for free or you run out of banks.

With logic like this, you should be extremely mad at the post pffice too then. I mean, they drive by your house every day (except Sunday). You should get free postage then, right? My advice: switch banks. As long as you aren't abusing the next bank's free services, they will probably not charge you.

brinks dosen't charge more for your

get the facts right buddy, your extra $200 in pennies and halves doesen't increase the fee banks pay to brinks, it is the same flat rate, how stupid do your think $200 more is going to be to the bank who orders $several thounds of dollars in coin, get real , you all must be a bunch of retired bank cons or pised off stock holders trying to get your stock back up to support the banks on this, I have closed my account and will now open at a another bank but sooner or later they will all try to ripp you off if they can!! roll searching is the best way to get collectors, that is how I got hooked wen I found $20 in franklins and libertys at my local bank, do you think a 10 year old is going to collect state quarters if the bank won;t sell him any? you all will pay when your try to resale your collections in the future and there isn't anyone collecting

Wow. You have clearly never worked at a bank. ;)

Like anything else, if you aren't happy with the policies...go somewhere else. You have clearly done that so hopefully you will be happy at your next bank.
