    Hey everyone, :)

I'm sure a thread or two have been opened about what you think is the most beautiful coin, but lets start a new one since we have so many more new members.

You don't have to own the coin, I just want to know your opnion's of a coin that you think has the most beautiful design. :)

Mine would be the Texas Comm. Half Dollar:

I'm currently in love with the standing liberty half dollar. Seeing one of these in mint state is amazing! There is a reason they still use that design on ASE's. Peace dollars and St. Gaudens double eagles are also very attractive designs.

I'll vote for the Walker design. Next would be the Merc. Dime.

I assume you mean Walkers, which is a fine choice. As I have said on other similar threads, I have to choose the Type 1 Buffalo's from 1913. What a design. Runners-up: Type 2 Buffalos, Walkers, Mercury dimes, Peace dollars, and I like the look of the Seated Liberty series from the 1800's.

You know, as I get older my tastes have changed. What I used to think was the best design or most beautiful is not what I now consider to be the best design. That being said I have always always appreciated bust coinage.

Sorry about the mis-statement! It's early, but I have the coffee brewing now!!!;)

My favorite designs are probably in the world categories but I'll stick to U.S. designs for the sake where this is posted.

I love the simplicity of the 1795 flowing hair, the walkers and a few others.

I will revert to what I collect though which is Classic Head Half Eagles. I think it is a very under-appreciated design that got lost in a transition.

But Coin Chat encompasses all coinage, not just US coinage.

Very nice choices, as far as silver goes here's my choice. Gold is a bit more difficult but I'm comfortable with my choices. :kewl:

Walkers with outstanding mint bloom and a bit of edge toned. Hands down.
