    Howdy peeps, :)

    This is one gorgeous coin:

Who wouldn't want a MS-68 1881-S Morgan for next to nothing? :goofer: The problem, that seller does not own that coin!!!! :goof:

    Here's the real seller:

This is one of those situations we always talk about . . . . if it looks too good to be true, it most likely isn't. ;) So be very careful buying high-end coinz on Ebay!!!! :eating:

    Ribbit :)

Ps: Ryan helped me find the real seller. :thumb:

No! He/She is listing it hoping you will bid 3 grand on it and they can go shopping with your money, while you sit at home wondering where your coin is. :goof:

It's called a SCAM and Ebay is full of them! ;)

I contacted the legitimate seller and provided a link to the other listing, suggesting that he contact Ebay. I also had a friend bid on the bogus listing in order to prevent someone from getting taken.

I baited a hook with this question to the seller...

I am confused, how can you sell this coin and auction #270447738 is the same coin? This other auction shows the NGC certificate number. Does your coin have a certificate number?

    Please stand-by.....

The "report item" option is now closer to the tops of listings, beneath the "Other item info" square on the right side.

I don't like the way e-bay makes the owner of the image report the violation.

I think I changed my mind mid stream. I guess only the owner can report the images stolen as e-bay might get bogus responses when they are not warrented.

I did the same thing. They are the only ones that can get Ebay to do anything about it and usually the owner of the pic is pretty perturbed and hops right on it so hopefully that seller will be no different. ;)

As to the bogus seller, it appears to be a hijacked account. They've been a member of Ebay since 1999 and haven't done anything to amount to anything, that is, until now. :goof:

Yeah, this has scam written all over it. When Toad first showed it to me, I knew right away there had to be something up since the price was so low and the time was almost up. ;)

I hate it when sellers do this... it really ticks me off. :goof:

We have been through this before. U
Unless you own the coin/image used, you cannot report him to eBay. The owner is the only one with non hearsay proof that the second lister does not own the image or coin.

    OK!

The first listing has been removed - and by eBay.

I am not disputing that this was a scam, but the actual seller of the coin also doesn't own the image. The image is a Heritage image from his purchase in the April Central States show. Here is the link:

    http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=1124&Lot_No=2994

He bought it for a great price and is selling it for a fair price. He stands to make some money on this coin.
