ANACS coin prices/value?

Your right it is the second one I posted a link to that had poor pictures. What do you think of either coin?

 

Just as it was suggested in post #2 of this thread, you can check out other auction sites for completed auctions/archives of prices realised. You can use the NumisMedia Fair Market Value Price Guide website to base what you might expect to make from a sale but it's only worth whatever the final bid in your sale/auction ends at, just as you paid $1.82, that is the current value for your exact coin until the next sale is realised.

 

This is a different coin, what are you asking about? This is a '68 with really bad pics, esp. given this is a retail coin dealer according to their eBay store page. The bad pics probably are a major reason for so few bids and the low price realised. Still the $5.50 price seems less than the grading fees it took to get slabbed. It's a cheap price and if you like Kennedy halves they it's worth buying, but it's not necessarily going to be worth a lot more (most likely) for some time.

 

That's what I am trying to learn you have been very helpful. How much are grading fees I know thats already been asked. I do appreciate all the time you folks spend helping us new or renewed collectors it is great.

 

Go to their respective sites and read their terms, fees and cost structure. It's all online at each TPGs site.

 

I have many ANACS slabbed coins, and generally consider those that are not net-graded to be functionally equilivent to PCGS or NGC (but not as valuable due to the market preference for the "big two"). I beleive most of them would readily "cross", perhaps with an upgrade to boot! I also beleive the "old" ANACS service (when actually part of the ANA) was very good at spotting counterfeit and altered coins.

 

I agree with this. I've been a big fan of ANACS for a long time and consider it to be one of the most underrated grading company out there.

 

I found many nice coins in ANACS slabs. When buying online assume the coin has issues if not certified. TPG is big business now and I've seen both NCG & PCGS grade countless ms or proof 70s. (Some with ugly spots) Best advice is buy the coin not the slab. (70 should be reserved extra superb specimens IMHO) POP <5

I price anacs coins same as others. Just use CU, CW, Krause whichever works for you.

Certainly Pcgs / NGC coins preferred by the market but for MV purpose develop your own strategy / be your own boss.
