If these cents are going to sell for such a crazy mark-up they better have fixed the spot problem on all of them. I refuse to pay premiums on coins that should be in circulation. Eventually, the hype will die out.

    300,000 units sold...thats a lot of cents!!

    That is 300,000 x 50= 15,000,000 cents and they are selling more...LOL

Ever think there will be a premium on these??

that explains why no one has found them in circulation and won't that make the error coins more valuable?

    I'm still learning..please be gentle :)

We find them all the time in circulation south of your border. They are spotty little buggers, though.

No offense, but as much as people complain about the US mint on this site I recommend that if you don't like the way they do stuff - don't buy from them or do business with them. As far as I am concerned they can mint as many of these puppies as they can puke out. I do not worry about mintages on my moderns and I do not care if they go up or down - I buy them from the mint(without problems) just because it is easier. All about supply and demand - and most non-collectors are enthused to get these new coins. And who knows we might get a few more real collectors out of the bargain. Just my humble opinion.

If you spend more on the secondary market you are always faced with risk. I just buy everything from the mint and I have nothing to worry about!!

Did anybody actually read the link ?

"In past similar situations, the re-offering period has only lasted a few days to a week before the products were once again "sold out."

Presumably this situation occurs when the US Mint sells their predetermined inventory of a product, but then order cancellations or invalid credit card information reduces the actual number of sales. The product is then put back on sale until the remaining final inventory is sold."

Whats wrong with that exactly ? Any business would do the same.

I believe this set was always on the Mint's 2009 Product Schedule.

What I HATE is being forced to buy all the dollar and penny proofs to get the silver proofs. If someone wants the dollar and penny proofs, they can buy them separately.

No it is a recent addition that didn't show up until just shortly before the release of the LP3 cents.

Why is this such a problem, the end total sold does not change. The only reason they are back up for sale is because a significant amount became available from canceled orders or invalid credit card orders.

Folks buying on e-bay if informed are basing thier buy price on the known quanity of 300,000 which has not changed.
