Big congrats! Very, very nice find! Your one in-hand, and the other in the Bibliothèque nationale de France...wow.

Just fantastic! And, so fun in your collecting focus.

I have a few Ancients having under 10 known, but one of the really cool feelings I have is a coin that has 2 known: one in the British Museum, the other in my hand, and having an impeccable provenance.

    Well done, @Cucumbor !

I have been able to reshoot some pictures and to build a virtual tray of them. Here they are, reunited together. To my knowledge it's the only complete set out of the Bibliothèque nationale de France

1665 - 2 examples known, the other at the BnF
    D-027-221-c.jpg

    1669 - 8 to 10 examples known
    D-027-222-c.jpg

1672 - 3 or 4 examples known, one of them at the BnF
    D-027-223-c.jpg

    1673 - Common
    D-027-224_2-c.jpg

1674 - 2 examples known, the other at the BnF
    D-027-225_2-c.jpg

    Virtual tray
    D-027-221-225.jpg

    Hope you enjoy them

Really nice Q! Imagine what those would have sold for in recent Heritage Paramount event....

There was one coin in sale that I have in better quality, it went 25X times what I paid in 2005o_O However, my targetted coin was a Julich-Berg AV 5 Dukaten 1717 in MS-60/ the highest "proxy bid upto the actual auction date was $7750. During live event/ it was bid up to $60K. The Chile AV 8 Escudos 1842 is second finest known/ only Lissner was better.a MS-63 ex. sold in prior Heritage event for 12K. There are 5 known, so I decided on that one.:D

How does it feel to have finished this nearly impossible set, @Cucumbor? I imagine it's a combination of incredible satisfaction plus some sadness that the hunt has ended?

Lucky there's lots more Dombes out there! Are you working on those demi-pistoles? :D

I don't feel sad in any way. Satisfaction, as anyone can understand putting them together was highly unlikely to happen. And as I wrote somewhere in page #1 I'm an optimistic guy : there can be some unknown other date somewhere, just waiting for me !

Saddly there's not "lots more Dombes out there", but still, there are some that I don't have yet, and others unknown, hopefully.

About pistoles and demi-pistoles, well, @panzerman has a beautiful one he's willing to gift me with, but I resist the temptation (and so does he :D )
