I used to collect football and baseball cards and pay hundreds of dollars to buy packs of worthless cards that fill up shoebox after shoebox. Then I started to collect coins and started to search rolls. I go to the bank pay 25 dollars for 25 dollars of pennys. I do not loose money even if the roll has nothing good I still have the face value. Buy a pack of cards and the pack sucks....your out at least 3 bucks and you have 7 crumby cards. An extreamly cheap and easy hobby to pass the time away.

    Exactly GypsyTears!!!!

My 3rd bank that orders halves for me messed up their order so I have no halves to search until Friday.

I did get $7 worth of halves from a different bank that were loose, with no luck. I also searched 4 rolls of nickels......1 41 and 1 53.

10 Rolls of Cents and got ONE wheat.....no 2009s......a very, very weak box.

I'll be back at it tomorrow!! :D

    Question for half dollar searchers

To all of you who roll search for halves:
Do you keep 2002 and later Kennedies? I know they weren't issued for circulation, but i'm finding quite a few and am wondering peoples' thoughts on whether or not they'd keep them?
    Thanks,
    Dano

Wow Dano, you are getting great, great finds. I'd love to find a commemorative!!!!

I am keeping the post 2002 ones because my 15 year old is putting together a folder collection of circulated ones....

I'd keep them, especially if they are toned like this one I found in a roll :)

Went to my local dry cleaner store and offered to buy all her pennies as they are never used. Ask her to roll them for me (I provided the wrappers). Came up to be $9.00. Found 1910-P AG, 1913-S F, 1929-P F, and 3 1958-D's. Love the 1913-S.

How much face value for a box of halves? Lady at a local bank said she would order me a box but didn't know how much they were, but that I would have to take the whole box.

1X 42 canadian cent from take a penny tray
and 53D half. As the teller was counting out the halves, this was on top. She was like ooohh that ones old. Then another teller came over and said I think its pure silver, it is. My heart dropped as they picked it out of the pile. But then they looked at it and put it back in the pile! YAY
